Now folks, I’m not a medical professional, but I get asked the question about Celiac’s disease, and will growing vegetables in wheat straw, which has gluten in it, of course, will that affect my vegetables?
And the honest answer is, no it won’t.
I’ve talked to lots of different people, particularly biologists and chemists, and we talked about how the molecules of gluten that may be present in the wheat seeds in a bale, those get decomposed by that bacteria, and they’re literally, those cells are deconstructed and broken down into molecules that created the cells.
Those nutrient molecules get absorbed and become part of a tomato or a pepper plant, and there’s gonna none of those gluten proteins left. They’re completely disintegrated.
So don’t worry if you have Celiac’s, you can’t eat the vegetables that grow out of a wheat straw bale.
If you live a gluten-free diet, don’t worry about eating those vegetables, you’re not gonna be affected at all.
So go ahead and grow in your wheat straw bales. You can enjoy the benefits of straw bale gardening, just like everybody else.
