NOBODY enjoys the chore of weeding. Traditional gardeners have to spend lots of time & energy pulling weeds from their vegetable gardens. It’s frustrating work, all season long.
Not you!
When you grow your plants & vegetables in a Straw Bale Garden, you’ll be delighted to discover there aren’t any weeds to pull.
(There’s some geeky science behind this, which Joel explains in another article.)
Less time weeding, means more time for you to prune your Basil plants, hunt for tomatoes, and just enjoy being in your garden.
I have had the book for a long time. I had a garden in Oregon, but now live in MT. I was assured that these were straw bales, but there is a lot of grass growing out of them. In the book, pg. 125, it says to mop on vinegar and wait 24 hrs. I don’t have a mop, but would spraying on the vinegar have the same effect?
