Sheryl shares a wonderful story of how their Straw Bale Community Garden project has been a tremendous success at Prince of Peace church in Loveland, Ohio.
A 4 bale test garden was enough to motivate two dozen volunteers from the congregation.
Surprises ALWAYS happen when someone plants in bales, and this story includes plenty of anecdotes like that, including farming grandmothers and bike-riding eighty year old neighbors.
Thanks to Sheryl for being part of the Straw Bale Gardening movement, and for using her many talents and gifts so generously in her community!

What a fantastic interview Kelly. You did a terrific job on this.
Prince of Peace Community Garden update: we are up to 32 spaces! We started a recipe kit program for the local food pantry wherein we collect a recipe for the garden produce (like zucchini!), staple it to a bag, and fill the bag with shelf stable ingredients. We gave away 80 kits last year.
Our 80+yo bicycle riding neighbor suffered a stroke a week after this interview. We saved his garden space for him and assisted his wife in planting. His goal became to walk to the garden site each afternoon, and by mid-summer, was a regular fixture in the garden.
